Successful succession planning at Promet AG

After around three years and a successful internal succession process, Roger Graf, founder, CEO and co-owner of Promet AG, is handing over the operational management of the company to the management. Erich Flühler - previously COO of Promet AG - will take over as CEO on September 1, 2024.

  • Roger Graf will focus on his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors and will continue to be available to the company as a technical advisor.

  • Promet AG, founded in 2004 and based in Kirchberg (SG) with a production site in Germany, specializes in engineering solutions for energy and control technology. The Swiss SME supplies products and system solutions for the solar and wind energy, e-mobility, mechanical engineering and public transport sectors.

  • F.G. Pfister Holding AG, which is wholly owned by the F.G. Pfister Foundation, acquired a stake in Promet AG at the beginning of September 2021. This was part of F.G. Pfister's strategy of investing in Swiss SMEs that are looking for a succession plan.

  • Promet AG is on course for growth and has created around 20 new jobs in the last three years. The company currently employs 70 people.

Suhr, August 26, 2024 - The investments of F.G. Pfister Holding AG - wholly owned by the F.G. Pfister Foundation - focus on SMEs with a Swiss connection that are looking for a succession plan. This means not only financial commitment, but also the obligation to incorporate ethical standards, social responsibility and long-term sustainability into their investment decisions. "Since we began our activities three years ago, eight Swiss owner managed SMEs have opted for a partnership with the Pfister Foundation as part of the external succession solution - including Promet AG. The shared vision of securing and expanding jobs in the long term and strengthening Switzerland as a business location forms the basis for these partnerships. We are delighted that the company has continued to develop successfully and is now introducing a sustainable succession solution with Erich Flühler as CEO," says Rudolf Obrecht, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Delegate of F.G. Pfister Holding AG.

Succession planning under the umbrella of the F.G. Pfister Foundation

Founded in 2004, Promet AG offers system solutions for energy technology and supports national and international customers in the planning and design of wiring systems, busbars and assemblies. The products are manufactured 100% in the company's own highly automated production facilities. "The expertise and large network of F.G. Pfister Holding AG as co-owner has given us additional security to grow in a promising market. Our entrepreneurial freedom and corporate culture were never up for discussion. At the same time, we were able to press ahead with the succession planning process. In Erich Flühler, a highly professional personality is taking over the management of the company together with the management team. I know that he will continue the successful development of the company with his entrepreneurial vision and motivated employees," says Roger Graf, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promet AG.

Erich Flühler, CEO of Promet AG, continues to see great growth potential for the company in Switzerland and Europe. This is due to the strong growth in demand for electrification, automation and renewable energy systems. Commenting on his role as the new CEO, he adds: «I am delighted with the trust placed in me by Roger Graf and the F.G. Pfister Foundation. The commitment of our employees to the success of our customers motivates me. Thanks to our expertise and a modern corporate culture, we will be able to continue to meet the expectations of our customers, partners and employees in the future».
